Who says you have to leave the States for a romantic honeymoon?
There are many beautiful places throughout the US that are affordable, beautiful, and feel like you've been transported to your own little paradise. Check out some of our favorite places to honeymoon:
Lake Tahoe, CA
Lake Tahoe is a hidden gem nestled away in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It boasts one of the largest freshwater lakes in America and is a sight to see all year long. In the winter, snow caps the mountains and gives visitors a taste of a winter wonderland. In the summer, the lake provides a soothing contrast to the heat.
If you’d like to have a quieter and more laid back vibe for your honeymoon, then check out North Lake. There are annual food and wine festivals, fancy resorts, and all the outdoor activities you could ever want.
The south side of the lake puts you smack dab in the middle of all the action. You’ll be surrounded by beautiful hotels, bustling bars, and restaurants, and all kinds of nightlife.
No matter where you decide to stay, Lake Tahoe will not disappoint.
Many are often blown away by the beauty of this southern time. Charleston is a great honeymoon destination for any couple. You’ll find delicious food, beautiful scenery, and gorgeous sunsets to add to the romance of your honeymoon.
Flights here are much cheaper than more popular destinations, making it more affordable for couples on a budget. Charleston also offers mountains and hiking trails for couples that plan to spend the duration of their honeymoon enjoying nature and the outdoors.
If you do plan to fly in, don’t worry about renting a car! Bikes are available to rent throughout the city, and transportation is fairly priced as well.
Key West, FL
If you’re looking for a Caribbean-like vacation without leaving the shores of the U.S, then the Florida Keys are perfect for you. Resorts that offer breathtaking views of the crystal blue water will transport you to Aruba or Jamaica.
The Key West is home to small streets that are easily accessible by bicycle, encouraging visitors to bike their way through the town. The views are much better up close, and you’ll enjoy the ocean breeze at every turn.
Not only will be able to explore this cozy town, but there are several private islands around that are just begging to be visited. You can sunbathe and snorkel, and return home with a tan that will have your friends jealous for weeks.
Sedona is the perfect getaway for couples living in a busy city that want some peace on their honeymoon. Located in the Arizona desert, the cliffs and red-rock towers create a picturesque landscape that will take your breath away.
The perfect times to visit Sedona are spring, fall, and winter, as heat in the summer months can make outdoor activities a challenge. It’s the perfect place for couples planning to spend the majority of their honeymoon outdoors. You’ll be able to go rafting, hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, and even horseback riding. What’s not to love?
Hawaii is the only place on this list without a specific city, because, well, let’s face it. Hawaii can do no wrong. No matter what island you decide to go to, you’ll be able to enjoy the natural flora and fauna this beautiful state has to offer.
If you’re looking for a more remote honeymoon filled with adventuring, then perhaps Kauai is the island for you. Or if you would prefer a more romantic, beachy vibe, head on over to Maui. There are plenty of resorts and bungalows to make your honeymoon an unforgettable one.
