I received this necklace for Christmas, so have had it for a few months and it still shines like it did the day I received it. I have several MG pieces and received two necklaces for the holidays in 2022. I was a bit hesitant as the necklaces are not sterling or stainless steel, but I was wrong to worry because the plating is very thick. For comparison, I previously had necklaces in a similar style from a popular website named after a rain forest, and the plating was very thin and dulled after a few months. I love that MG items are meant to last a lifetime. Just because it’s not solid gold doesn’t mean it is “costume jewelry,” these are go to pieces that customers can wear for years to come.
My necklace is the rose gold plated selection. It is very heavy and no one would think it is anything but solid gold by looking at it. I pair it with a simple V neck tee most days, and with a nice blouse or dress on special occasions.
My husband knows that Modern Gents is always a sure bet for gift giving occasions. I also have several rings and all have held up well over the years. If you are like me and have more than enough rings for every occasion, the necklaces are every bit as well made and beautiful.
I will update my review of the necklace ends up fading over time, but with the thickness of the gold plating I don’t foresee that being an issue. You might be able to find a similar style for $15 but you get what you pay for and the MG necklaces are worth every penny to…
